I want to see it; he does not. I don’t mind going to the show with out him however; I do take issue with his reasons for not seeing it. He claimed that the marketing campaign was deceptive and that the story was deceptive. I called BS. I told him that the trailer we saw months ago was up front and left no doubt what this show was about. I then proceeded to shower him with my many arguments as to why I felt he was being a bit closed minded all of which have been articulated verbatim by Leonard Pitts in today’s opinion section of the Tribune.

Had it not been for my husband I never would have seen the article but being the wonderful man he is he suggested that I may want to take a look at it. You see, typically I don’t read the opinion section because it usually has only to do with politics, my least favorite subject. Anyway, today was the exception. I owe Mr. Pitts a big thank you because he was able to get my husband to reconsider accompanying me to the show.

What the hell was I thinking?

My husband’s top 3 passions in life are me, politics, and his blog. His passion for politics lead to his passion for blogging and his passion for blogging feeds his passion for politics, thus completing the circle. So where does his passion for me fit into the equation? On many occasions my husband has tried to convince me to create my own blog and join the team. Each time I decline and remind him that I have no interest in politics. I think the entire lot of them is corrupt and I trust little of what I see, hear and read. In my mind blogs and politics were synonymous. Thus there was no place in blog land for me, until last night that is. As we bid farewell to another year some how the subject of me blogging came up again, this time I embraced the idea as a way to share my thoughts on the issues I am passionate about, the ordinary every day life of you, me and the average Joe. Seldom will I comment on politics unless it is to complain that I am sick of hearing about it. Don’t get me wrong, I am glad that my husband is as passionate about the subject as he is because it balances out my apathy for the subject.
